4 oz raisins (110g)
8 oz chopped dates (225g)
6 oz sultanas (175g)
4 oz currants (110g)
10 oz margarine (275g)
= pint water (275ml)
1 large size tin condensed milk

%26gt; teaspoon bicarbonate of soda
1 tablespoon chunky marmalade
Directions:
Pre-heat the oven to gas mark 3 (325F) (1700C) and line an 8 inch (20cm) cake tin with greaseproof or silicone paper.
Place all the fruits, the margarine, water and condensed milk in a saucepan and bring to the boil, stirring frequently. Let the mixture simmer for 3 minutes exactly, still stirring. Transfer the mixture to a large mixing bowl and allow to cool for 30 minutes. Add the flour, bicarbonate of soda and marmalade, then spoon the mixture into the prepared tin. Bake on the centre shelf of the oven for 2= hours. Take a look halfway through and if the cake looks a bit dark put a double square of greaseproof on top to protect it. When the cake is cooked leave it to cool in the tin for 5 minutes before turning it outI've got lots of Condensed Milk cans, any recipes preferably healthy ones?
Try this recipe, hope you like it!!
~FLAN~
1/2 cup sugar
2 1/2 tablespoons water
4 eggs, separated
1 can condensed milk
1 can evaporated milk
1 cup milk
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
In a saucepan, combine sugar and water, and boil rapidly until a deep amber color. Pour the mixture in the bottom of a 9-inch glass or ceramic pie pan and coat sides. Let cool.
In a bowl, stir egg yolks and then add all the milks and vanilla. Mix batter well. In another bowl, whip egg whites until fluffy, not stiff. Fold whites into batter. Pour mixture into the caramelized sugar-coated pie dish.
Place dish in large roasting pan or baking pan. Add enough hot water to come halfway up sides of pie dish. Bake flan in water bath for 1 hour, until set in center. Let cool, then cover and chill overnight. (Can be made two days ahead. Keep chilled.) Enjoy!! :)I've got lots of Condensed Milk cans, any recipes preferably healthy ones?
You want Healthy and Sweetened Condensed MIlk in the same recipe?!?!? ROFLOL
Or do you mean evaporated milk?
If you mean ';sweetened'; condensed milk, the only recipes I've used it for is stuff like cookie bars. Mm-good. If it is evaporated milk, I have used it in soups to make them creamy.
If it is evaporate milk then you can makes lots of soups and chowders like corn chower and stuff. But if it is sweet and condensed milk, there really aren't any recipes that are healthy.
Here is a link for some recipes for sweetened condensed milk.
